WELCOME!!!

As a new rider to our program, we welcome you and your family to the "best in BMX"! Virginia has one of the best BMX programs in the United States. Our all-volunteer staffs at our 5 Virginia tracks are always eager to help you and provide you with the first -time rider information to get you on your way to being the BEST. Please read the below information, and then contact your local track organization or email the VA BMX State Board at vastatebmx@yahoo.com with any questions or concerns.

REGISTRATION? When registering for a race you must have your NBL card or the pink copy of your license application with you. In the event that you have not yet registered with the NBL, you will need to have a copy of your birth certificate and a Parent/Guardian to fill out the application. The race fee will be explained to you during registration as it varies depending upon the type of race . After registration, proceed to bike inspection. This safety inspection will ensure both your safety and the safety of others. After passing inspection, you will be permitted to begin practicing.

Moto sheet? The moto sheets for the race will be posted about 10 - 15 minutes before race time by the registration building. You will need to find your rider's age class and the proficiency level of Rookie. The moto number on the left side of this sheet is your rider's moto for this race. You will notice 3 numbers next to the rider's name; these numbers represent the position or "lane" the rider will be starting in for his/her 1st, 2nd, and 3rd race. As you can see the lane changes, but the moto number will remain the same. Record both the moto number and lanes. Keep this information handy. The rider needs to be in the staging area behind the starting hill 10 motos before his/her moto.

Ready to race? Everyone will race 3 times during the event. In the event that your rider has seven or more racers in his/her age group. A fourth race called a "main" will be held after the 3rd motos have been run. Don't forget to stop by the trophy window after the race. All new riders will received an award!
